Hospice and Palliative Care Specialty CPE Unit 2023 - PLEASE NOTE NEW START DATE

If you want to be a Hospice/Palliative Care Chaplain or a chaplain who works in Bereavement, you need specialized training in end of life, life limiting illness and grief. We are introducing a Specialized CPE Unit for Hospice/Palliative Care Chaplaincy that will combine specialized training with the unique personal and pastoral formation of CPE.

If you complete this course and the clinical hours required, you will receive credit for one unit of CPE. If you complete this unit and four other CPE Units, you may candidate for Board Certification with a Specialty in Hospice and Palliative Care.

  • Different Types of Grief

  • End of Life Care Systems

  • Supporting the Inter-Disciplinary Team

  • Specific Documentation and Spiritual Care Planning for the Specialty

11 Classes on Thursday evenings. AS OF JANUARY 8, WE HAVE ONLY ONE SPACE LEFT IN OUR HOSPICE & PALLIATIVE CARE UNIT.

TUITION: $1495.00

Zelle or Credit Card payments accepted. (There is an additional transaction fee for credit card payments.)

To receive CPE credit, you will need an approved Hospice or Palliative Care site and complete 300 hours providing Spiritual Care at that site. You must apply and be accepted before you can register.

If you take 1 or 2 units of CPE with SLCET, you are required to attend one chaplain retreat. If you take 3 or 4 units with SLCET, you are required to attend 2 chaplain intern retreats. Currently due to COVID, chaplain retreats are being held online. For more information click here.

Dr. Paula Belleggie, DTh, DMin, BCC, BCPC, FHPC, CPE Supervisor

Paula founded Spiritual Living Center for Education & Training in 2010. In 2012 she merged her Training Center with Rocky Mountain Center for Education & Training which was founded by the late Rev. Foy Richey in 1995. Prior to doing Supervision, she served in hospice, bereavement and trauma as a Chaplain and Pastoral Counselor.
